The Siege of D-GTMI (2nd and 3rd Day)
The Second day of the Siege
Since the siege of D-GTMI had started the system was pretty much in complete lockdown by ourside. All the gates were heavily bubbled wiht Mobile Warp Disruption Bubbles and had various number of ships covering them, willing to engage any and all hostile ships that were jumping in or trying to get out of the system. At the same time the clean up of the other systems were in action and on YC 11201224 Libertas Fidelitas (LFA) lost sovereignty in 9KOE-A.
As the station was in reinforced mode as well as the IHUB, our task was to protect our System Blockading Units and make sure the hostiles couldn’t evacuate the station or get in reinforcements. We had also incapacitated some of their outposts in the system – including a Jump-Bridge module. They had another Jump-Bridge in the system and our objective for the day was to finish up destroying the previuously reinforced outposts and take down the second Jump-Bridge. All this was done with little or no opposition from Proviblob.
(Fleet at a friendly outpost)
Later in the day, however, there was reports coming in of hostile fleet forming up. Their objective was to engage our SBU’s. After few hours of waiting the hostiles were ready to attack and they Jumped in to the system. We quickly moved our fleet to engage them. Proviblob had not learned their lesson from previous battles, as they had the most of the fleet made from Battlecruisers. They were miserably outnumbered and outgunned as our Battleship heavy fleet quickly brought the pain on them. We destroyed almost half of their Battlecruisers and most of their smallers ships with the loss of only two Battleships and nine supportships. The Proviblob was again beaten badly as they retreated from the system (Battle Statistic)
The 3rd Day of the Siege
(Dreadnoughts in action)
The third day of the siege (YC 1120125) dawned with spectacular news. GoonSwarm (and some other alliances as well) had failed to pay CONCORD bills on their claims in Delve and Querious regions. This resulted in the loss of all those sovereignty in those regions. IT Alliance and All Against Authority were quickly moving in to capitalize the GoonSwarm mistake.
GoonSwarms misfortune caused them to pull all forces out of D-GTMI area thus weakeingn the hostile forces in the area. So far GoonSwarms small but very skilled Stealth Bomber squadron had been the most deadly force within the hostile fleet. Now they were gone. Our main objective continued as from the day before – to lock down the D-GTMI system and clean up the F9E-KX and WD-VTV systems and shoot the station in D-GTMI in to second reinforcement cycle.
(Ragnarok giving a broadside)
Most of the day there wasn’t really any hostiles around, except some lone straglers trying to get out, which were mostly destroyed. Later in the evening the Proviblob formed up another fleet aiming to prevent us from destroying their reinforced outposts in the system which were coming out of reinforcement and more importantly were trying to stop us from shooting the station to second reinforcement cycle. And like before – they had most of the fleet made out of Battlecruisers. They had the numbers in theory, but in reality they didn’t have a chance. They had over 230 Battlecruisers and hundreds of support but our fleet had over 260 Battleships and about same amount of smaller ships. The result of the battle was clear from the initial engagement as the hostiles started to lose Battlecruisers so fast, that Lt. Dorvin - who is the Fire Control Officer on board the =JBS= Reach & Pop II - started to whine as he was unable to lock on to the targets fast enough before they were destroyed. Nearly a third of their Battlecruisers and about half of the whole Proviblob fleet was destroyed while we lost 66 ships with 13 of them Battleships. After the enemy retreated the fleet some more were destroyed at the gates by our support (Battle Statistics).

(=JBS= Reach & Pop II in action)
Holding the system, we went on and destroyed the outposts and shot the station to it’s second reinforcement cycle and then went to WD-VTV where we destroyed the Libertas Fidelitas IHUB and Territorial Claiming Unit making them lose the sovereignty in the system.
(The final moments of a hostile outpost)
The unbelievabe short sightness and inability to learn from mistakes were causing huge losses on Proviblob without them gaining anything. I couldn’t believe the lack of skills on Proviblob Fleet Commanders – and it was going to get a lot worse…
